NewsBreak24 is an independent digital news publication committed to producing timely, accurate, fair and responsible journalism.
This Editorial Policy explains the principles and practices that guide our reporting, editing, publication, corrections and commercial-editorial separation.
NewsBreak24 seeks to operate in accordance with applicable Indian law and relevant journalistic standards, including, where applicable, the Code of Ethics prescribed for publishers of news and current affairs on digital media.
1. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions at NewsBreak24 are based on journalistic relevance, public interest, accuracy and editorial judgment.
Advertisers, sponsors, commercial partners, public relations agencies, political organisations or other outside parties do not automatically receive influence over independent editorial decisions because of a commercial or professional relationship with NewsBreak24.
NewsBreak24 distinguishes independent editorial content from paid or sponsored material.
The Founder & Editor-in-Chief has overall responsibility for NewsBreak24’s editorial direction and standards.
2. Accuracy and Verification
Accuracy is a fundamental editorial objective of NewsBreak24.
Before publication, our journalists, editors and contributors are expected to make reasonable efforts appropriate to the nature and urgency of the story to verify material facts.
Verification may include:
- consulting primary or authoritative sources;
- reviewing official statements, records, documents or data;
- seeking confirmation from individuals or organisations directly involved;
- cross-checking information against multiple credible sources where appropriate;
- verifying the origin and context of photographs, videos and social-media material where reasonably possible; and
- clearly attributing information that NewsBreak24 has not independently established.
The level of verification reasonably possible may vary depending on the nature of the story, particularly during breaking or developing news events.
Speed should not knowingly take precedence over material accuracy.
3. Sources and Attribution
NewsBreak24 uses a range of sources depending on the story.
These may include:
- original reporting and interviews;
- government departments and public authorities;
- court records and official documents;
- regulatory filings and public records;
- official statements;
- recognised news agencies and wire services;
- companies and organisations;
- subject-matter experts;
- press releases;
- correspondents and contributors;
- publicly available databases and research;
- social-media posts from identifiable or relevant sources; and
- other credible publications and information sources.
Where information originates substantially from another source, NewsBreak24 aims to provide appropriate attribution.
Attribution does not necessarily mean that NewsBreak24 independently verifies every statement contained in the original source.
4. Primary Sources
Where reasonably possible and appropriate, NewsBreak24 prefers primary sources over secondary reporting.
For example, reporting about a court judgment should preferably refer to the judgment or authoritative court information where available; reporting about government policy should preferably refer to the relevant government announcement or document; and reporting about a company’s official announcement should preferably refer to the company’s authorised communication.
Secondary sources may nevertheless be used where they are credible, relevant and appropriately attributed.
5. News Agencies and Wire Services
NewsBreak24 may publish, adapt or use material supplied by licensed news agencies and wire services.
Agency material may be edited for length, clarity, headline style, formatting, context or relevance, subject to applicable licensing terms and editorial requirements.
Where appropriate, agency or source attribution will be provided.
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in agency photographs, videos, text or other licensed material remain with the respective rights holders.
NewsBreak24 does not present material substantially derived from a news agency or wire service as original NewsBreak24 reporting. Agency content is attributed in accordance with applicable licensing arrangements, contractual requirements and editorial practices.
6. Press Releases and Official Statements
NewsBreak24 receives press releases, announcements, statements and other information from government bodies, companies, organisations, public relations agencies and individuals.
A press release is a source of information, not automatically an independently verified news report.
Where NewsBreak24 publishes information substantially based on a press release or official statement, appropriate attribution should be provided where relevant.
NewsBreak24 retains editorial discretion to edit, contextualise, verify, supplement, decline or publish submitted material.
Submission of a press release does not guarantee publication.
7. Anonymous and Confidential Sources
NewsBreak24 generally prefers information that can be attributed to identifiable sources.
However, anonymity may be granted when a source has legitimate reasons for confidentiality and the information is considered sufficiently important to the public interest.
Where anonymous sources are used, editors should consider, where reasonably possible:
- the source’s access to the relevant information;
- possible motivations or conflicts of interest;
- whether material facts can be independently corroborated; and
- whether identifying the source could reasonably expose the person to retaliation, legal risk, professional consequences or personal danger.
NewsBreak24 should not grant anonymity merely to enable unsupported personal attacks or speculation.
The identity of a confidential source should be protected to the extent reasonably possible and consistent with applicable law.
8. Allegations and Right of Reply
NewsBreak24 takes particular care when reporting serious allegations against identifiable individuals or organisations.
Where a report contains significant allegations that could materially affect a person’s or organisation’s reputation, NewsBreak24 should, where reasonably practicable and appropriate, seek their response before publication.
If sufficient time or circumstances do not permit a response before publication, the report may state that a response has been sought where appropriate.
A relevant response received after publication may be added to or reflected in the report when editorially appropriate.
Seeking comment does not give the subject of a story a right to prevent publication or control NewsBreak24’s editorial decisions.
9. Breaking and Developing News
Breaking news presents particular verification challenges.
NewsBreak24 may publish confirmed information as a story develops and subsequently update the report when additional reliable information becomes available.
Early reports should distinguish confirmed facts from claims, preliminary information, estimates or reports attributed to other sources.
Material developments may result in changes to headlines, photographs, text, context or other elements of an article.
Where an earlier version contained a material factual error, the matter should be handled under our corrections standards rather than silently treated as an ordinary update.
10. Headlines, Thumbnails and Social Media Posts
Headlines, push notifications, social-media captions, thumbnails and other promotional elements should fairly represent the underlying story.
NewsBreak24 aims to avoid headlines or visual presentations that materially misrepresent the facts contained in an article.
Headlines may summarise or simplify complex developments, but should not knowingly create a materially false impression.
The same basic standards of accuracy apply to NewsBreak24 content distributed through our website and official social-media channels.
11. Social Media as a Source
Information circulating on social media should not automatically be treated as verified merely because it is widely shared.
Where social-media material forms an important part of a report, NewsBreak24 should make reasonable efforts appropriate to the circumstances to establish factors such as:
- who originally published the material;
- whether the account or source is authentic;
- when and where the material was created;
- whether photographs or videos have been presented in their original context; and
- whether relevant claims can be independently corroborated.
Unverified viral claims should be clearly identified as unverified where there is a legitimate editorial reason to report them.
12. Photographs, Videos and User-Generated Content
NewsBreak24 may use photographs, videos and other material supplied by agencies, official sources, contributors, eyewitnesses or members of the public.
Reasonable efforts should be made to determine authenticity, source and context where those factors are material to the story.
NewsBreak24 should not knowingly present materially manipulated visual content as an authentic representation of an event.
Images may be cropped, resized or otherwise technically adjusted for publication, provided such editing does not materially misrepresent their journalistic meaning.
Illustrations, representative images, file photographs or AI-generated visuals should be identified where context makes such disclosure important to avoid misleading readers.
13. Artificial Intelligence
NewsBreak24 may use artificial intelligence and other technology-assisted tools to support aspects of its editorial and production workflow.
Potential uses may include transcription, translation, summarisation, research assistance, headline suggestions, metadata, graphics, audio processing and other production tasks.
AI-generated output should not automatically be treated as a verified source of fact.
Material journalistic claims generated or suggested using AI should be subject to appropriate editorial review and verification before publication.
NewsBreak24 remains editorially responsible for content it publishes regardless of whether technology-assisted tools were used during production.
Where materially synthetic or AI-generated content could reasonably cause readers to misunderstand the authenticity or origin of content, appropriate disclosure should be considered.
NewsBreak24 may maintain a separate AI Editorial Policy providing further detail.
14. Plagiarism and Originality
NewsBreak24 does not knowingly permit plagiarism.
Journalists, editors and contributors should not present another person’s original reporting, writing, photographs, graphics or other protected work as their own.
Information obtained from other publications should be appropriately attributed where required by journalistic practice or law.
Quotations should be accurately represented and should not be materially altered in a manner that changes their intended meaning.
15. Fairness and Context
NewsBreak24 aims to provide sufficient context for readers to understand the material significance of a story.
Fairness does not necessarily require giving equal weight to every claim or viewpoint. Editorial judgment may consider the available evidence, relevance, public interest and credibility of the information involved.
NewsBreak24 should avoid knowingly omitting material context in a manner that fundamentally misrepresents the subject of a report.
16. Political and Election Coverage
NewsBreak24 aims to approach political and election reporting independently of political parties, candidates and ideological organisations.
Coverage decisions should be guided by newsworthiness, public interest and editorial judgment rather than political pressure or commercial consideration.
NewsBreak24 does not provide favourable editorial coverage in exchange for payment or other commercial benefit.
Paid political advertising or sponsored political communication, if accepted, should be clearly distinguishable from independent editorial content and handled in accordance with applicable law and platform requirements.
17. Conflicts of Interest
People contributing to NewsBreak24 should avoid situations in which significant personal, financial, political or commercial interests could improperly influence their journalism.
Where a material conflict cannot reasonably be avoided, appropriate disclosure or editorial safeguards should be considered.
Gifts, payments, benefits or hospitality should not be accepted where they could reasonably be understood as purchasing favourable editorial coverage.
18. Sponsored Content and Advertising
NewsBreak24 may generate revenue through advertisements, sponsorships, branded content, partnerships and other legitimate commercial activities.
Paid content should be appropriately identified using labels such as:
- Sponsored
- Advertisement
- Partner Content
- Presented By
- Brand Partnership
or another disclosure appropriate to the circumstances.
Advertising relationships should remain separate from independent editorial decision-making.
An advertiser’s commercial relationship with NewsBreak24 does not guarantee favourable editorial coverage or protection from legitimate reporting.
19. Sensitive, Graphic and Disturbing Content
News reporting may sometimes involve violence, accidents, conflict, crime, death or other distressing events.
NewsBreak24 should consider the public-interest value of publishing graphic or disturbing material against the potential harm or distress its publication may cause.
Where appropriate, graphic material may be blurred, cropped, withheld or accompanied by a warning.
NewsBreak24 should avoid publishing graphic material solely for shock value or sensationalism.
20. Children and Vulnerable Persons
NewsBreak24 aims to exercise additional care when reporting about children, victims of sexual offences, vulnerable individuals and people affected by trauma.
Identities or identifying details should be withheld where required by law or where publication would create unjustified harm.
NewsBreak24 will comply with applicable legal restrictions concerning the identification of victims, minors and other protected persons.
21. Crime, Investigations and Court Reporting
NewsBreak24 recognises the distinction between an allegation, an arrest, a charge, a trial and a conviction.
Reports should avoid presenting an accused person as legally guilty before guilt has been established by a competent court.
Court proceedings, judicial orders and legal disputes should be reported accurately and with appropriate context.
NewsBreak24 will respect applicable reporting restrictions, court orders and laws governing publication.
22. Privacy and Public Interest
NewsBreak24 considers privacy when deciding whether to publish personal information.
Public figures may legitimately be subject to greater journalistic scrutiny concerning matters relevant to their public roles, but public status does not eliminate all expectations of privacy.
NewsBreak24 should consider whether publication of private information serves a legitimate journalistic or public-interest purpose.
23. Discrimination, Religion and Communities
NewsBreak24 aims to avoid unnecessary references to a person’s religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, disability or other personal characteristics where those details are irrelevant to the story.
Reporting involving communities, religious matters or social tensions should be handled with appropriate care, context and accuracy.
NewsBreak24 does not knowingly publish content intended to unlawfully incite violence, hatred or discrimination.
24. Corrections, Clarifications and Updates
NewsBreak24 distinguishes between routine updates to developing stories and corrections of material factual errors.
When a material factual error is established, NewsBreak24 may:
- correct the inaccurate information;
- add relevant clarification;
- revise a headline, caption or visual;
- add a correction or editor’s note where appropriate; or
- in exceptional circumstances, remove content where legally or editorially justified.
We aim not to conceal material errors merely by silently rewriting an article where transparency reasonably requires acknowledgement of the correction.
Readers may report potential factual errors at:
Please include the article URL, the information believed to be incorrect and any supporting evidence available.
Further details may be provided in our Corrections Policy.
25. Content Removal
NewsBreak24 generally considers published journalism part of the public record.
Accordingly, an article will not necessarily be removed merely because a person or organisation dislikes the coverage or because the information later becomes inconvenient.
Removal, de-indexing, anonymisation or substantial modification may nevertheless be considered where justified by:
- a legal requirement or court order;
- a serious factual or editorial problem;
- a valid copyright or intellectual-property issue;
- significant privacy or safety considerations;
- exceptional ethical circumstances; or
- another compelling editorial reason.
Each request will be considered on its circumstances and applicable law.
26. Copyright and Intellectual Property
NewsBreak24 respects intellectual property rights.
Original NewsBreak24 journalism and creative material is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Material supplied by news agencies, photographers, contributors, licensors and other third parties remains subject to the rights of its respective owners.
Copyright or takedown concerns may be sent to:
Please include the relevant URL and sufficient information demonstrating the basis of the request.
27. User Comments
NewsBreak24 currently does not enable public comments directly on articles.
NewsBreak24 nevertheless publishes content on social-media platforms where users may independently comment or respond under the rules and systems of those platforms.
NewsBreak24 may moderate interactions on accounts it controls where reasonably necessary to address spam, abuse, threats, unlawful material or other inappropriate conduct.

29. Applicable Editorial Standards
NewsBreak24 seeks to conduct its digital news publishing activities in accordance with applicable Indian law and relevant standards applicable to publishers of news and current affairs on digital media.
These include, where applicable, the Norms of Journalistic Conduct of the Press Council of India and the Code of Ethics under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as amended or otherwise applicable from time to time.
Nothing in this Editorial Policy overrides obligations imposed by applicable law, competent courts or lawful authorities.
30. Review of This Policy

Material revisions will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
