Female Constable Alleges Gangrape by Fellow Policemen in Rajasthan’s Churu

Woman constable accuses four officers of sexual assault, alleges years of abuse and blackmail within the department.

Churu, Rajasthan — In a deeply disturbing incident that has rocked the Rajasthan Police Department, a female constable has accused four policemen—including a former Station House Officer (SHO)—of gangrape and prolonged sexual exploitation over several years.

The allegations, formally registered with the Churu police, have prompted an internal investigation and a case has been filed against the accused officers. The complainant, who is currently under suspension due to absenteeism and allegations of criminal involvement, approached senior police officials two weeks ago with a written complaint detailing the abuse she allegedly suffered.

Years of Alleged Abuse and Intimidation

According to the complaint, the harassment began in 2017 and continued until 2025. The woman alleges that she was drugged and sexually assaulted multiple times, both at a police station and at a local hotel. The accused reportedly used threats and intimidation to silence her for years.

“They forced me to consume intoxicants and took advantage of my vulnerability. They threatened me and used their positions to suppress my voice,” she claimed in the FIR.

Victim Submitted Complaint to Churu SP

The woman constable said she had reached a breaking point and decided to present her case directly to the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Churu. The SP ordered a preliminary internal probe, after which the complaint was deemed credible enough to warrant formal registration of a criminal case. On Wednesday, her medical examination was also conducted as part of the investigation.

‘Taken to a Hotel Under the Pretext of Duty’

The survivor’s statement mentions that one of the accused misled her into believing she was being assigned emergency duty and lured her to a hotel, where the first incident of assault allegedly took place. She also described meeting a man named Vicky, who falsely claimed to be an electricity board employee and reportedly introduced her to some of the accused officers.

“It was a pre-planned trap. I was manipulated into situations where I couldn’t escape, and they kept repeating the abuse while blackmailing me with threats,” she said.

ED Raids and Administrative Action

The case takes place amid broader scrutiny of administrative corruption and misconduct within state services. This isn’t the first time law enforcement personnel in Rajasthan have faced serious allegations involving women officers.

SP Churu confirmed that the complaint had been taken seriously and the accused have been identified. “We are investigating thoroughly. Any officer found guilty will face the strictest legal consequences,” said an official statement.

Social and Political Reaction

The incident has sparked outrage across social and political circles. Women’s rights organizations have demanded swift justice and departmental reforms. Several activists criticized the internal handling of previous complaints and urged authorities to ensure the survivor’s safety during the investigation.

“It’s shocking and shameful that a woman officer had to face this for years. The system should have protected her, not enabled this kind of abuse,” said an activist from a Jaipur-based women’s NGO.
